Klaus animation film revealed some years ago an amazing tool for shading with a double contour as demonstrated in the following video. I am obsessed with it since and finally manage to create a somehow usable copy with GeometryNodes !
Usage
The tool is on the form of a modifier inside an example file. The easiest way to use it is to copy-paste any gradient object in the file. Then in the object any pair of 2 curves produces a gradient shape (1st = inside, 2nd = outside). Watch the demo video to better understand the workflow.
Limitations
- Twisted cases may fail but I believe the official Klaus tool also had some of those issues
- Grease Pencil mode has no support for custom color and the gradient is less accurate (I recommend not using it)
All revenues are directed toward the development of new open source tools for design in Blender.
