Klaus animation film revealed some years ago an amazing tool for shading with a double contour as demonstrated in the following video. I am obsessed with it since and finally manage to create a somehow usable copy with GeometryNodes !
Usage
The tool is on the form of a modifier inside an example file. The easiest way to use it is to copy-paste any gradient object in the file. Then in the object any pair of 2 curves produces a gradient shape (1st = inside, 2nd = outside). Watch the demo video to better understand the workflow.
Limitations
- Twisted cases may fail but I believe the official Klaus tool also had some of those issues :/
- The grease pencil toggle doesn't support custom color and the gradient is less accurate
All revenues are directed toward the development of new open source tools for design in Blender.
